Hello!

Good news everyone! I'm staying in Cherry Grove for 6 more weeks!! I can't even tell you how excited I am! It's been an incredible journey so far, and I am so glad I get another 6 weeks to finish strong in this area. Although this week was more low-key than our last 6, we still had a lot of wonderful things happen.

Wednesday was our usual Food Bank day, I just love the people we work with. Working with so many different religious groups has been both entertaining and informative. I've learned so much about their beliefs, and it's amazing just how similar we all are. After the Food Bank, we went to help this lady, L.P., with a project at the middle school. We met her at a Lutheran garage sale a few months back, and she said she had a project for us in the summer. She's moving classrooms so we've helped her throughout the week. Man, this woman can talk! haha but it's been good to help her.

Thursday was an amazing day. We started it off with some weekly planning, and then we visited a less active member, A and her family. We haven't met with them in weeks, and we were finally able to see them! We showed up at there house for the appointment, and they weren't there. So we decided to run to the grocery store real quick while waiting for them to come. We had met a guy on the military base a few weeks ago who is missing an arm, lives alone, and comes across as pretty rough. We had been talking about him that morning, and how we really hope we run into him. HEAVENLY FATHER IS SO GREAT! He was the very first guy we saw in the grocery store! Sadly, he was in a hurry, but a huge smile went across his face as we yelled out a big hello to him. We didn't even pray to have that experience, we were just waiting for our appointment to show up, Heavenly Father sweeps in with a miracle! Now I know that Heavenly Father doesn't just listen to our formal prayers, He is always aware of our hearts desires. And so we never know when He'll grant those desires, but He is always listening, and He is always there.

Friday was crazy! We had a ton of people that we needed to see as well as some projects that needed work, so we set up splits! Sister V went with a Young Woman named J, and I went with Sh! Sh and I helped L with her classroom project, and we were on our way out to pick up her brother B to go to a lesson on a Native reserve when we got a phone call from a very drunk man. Hahah it was the investigator we were about to go teach! He said that we couldn't come out because he was drinking. Well that's good! haha He said that there had been a funeral the day before and there was going to be a funeral the next day, so he was unsure when he would be done drinking..... There are so many things wrong with that statement! haha so long story short, we couldn't go out to the lesson. We were already 20 minutes out of town, and we didn't have a ton of time left on our split so we ended up weeding their garden. Sister V and J had a blast and were able to find us a new investigator! Then we picked up Sister V and went to dinner with B and Sh at a 50's diner in Bonnyville! Such a blast, there's nothing like eating in a diner.

Saturday was such an adventure! haha we had totally forgotten that it was the Heritage Days celebration, and we knew that there would be tons of people there, so we quickly ran over, and as we got onto the shuttle, we ran into A and her family! So we went around with them for a bit, and we ran into another less active member from the ward. She's originally from El Salvador, and she'll show up to church occasionally, but she's a challenge to get a hold of. So we chatted with her and found out she would be doing a Zumba class right there at the event! So I said I would do it with her, and try to get some other people to join in. This sister did 45 minutes of Zumba in a skirt and flats!! hahaha it was so much fun! But dang I was tired! I was able to meet a young girl and her father by doing it, and we talked to the dad about church, and he said that he hasn't been to a church in years, but he may want to start going to one again. So we gave him or number, and we're praying he'll call us!

That night, we had an appreciation dinner for the Little Britches Rodeo Family Fun Day we helped with a few years ago. The committee is made up of a pretty rough crowd, most of which hate the church. So we usually don't say too much around them, but they were asking us questions about our missionary work the entire night! I couldn't believe it! The members that were there were just as shocked as we were! It was a complete miracle. You can see their hearts softening, and although it will take many more years, they are starting to be drawn to the gospel. SO COOL!

Church was a blast on Sunday! We were asked to sub for the music, and I pulled out all of Mama Sheri tricks! We naturally sang Book of Mormon stories with hand actions, popcorn popping, and we did Follow the Prophet- Fiddler on the Roof style! hahaha they loved it! I think the funnest part was teaching them sign language for the chorus of I am a Child of God. They picked up on it so fast, and anytime kids sing that song, it just tugs at your heart strings!

My last story happened last night. We had dinner with a potential investigator, T. We visit her occasionally at her clothing store, and she has been meeting with the Jehovah's Witnesses for the last few months. She had us over for dinner, and she immediately started opening up about her spiritual life. She feels like her questions aren't getting answered, and she keeps hitting these road blocks. She has difficultly believing in life after death, and she just doesn't know what she believes. She's so dang prepared! She started talking about coming out to our church, and the more we talked about it, the more she wanted to do it! We're helping her with a project on Thursday, so I'm praying that we can get her to come this Sunday! Please keep her in your prayers.

Well, it feels nice to have things slow down a bit, but if I know Heavenly Father like I do, it won't last very long! haha I say it every week, but I'm so grateful to be doing what I'm doing. I'm constantly amazed at all of the miracles happening around me, and I love that I get to be a part of it.

Have a fantastic week and never forget that Jesus loves you!
