Elderly AND British!!!

Ello everyone! What an interesting week it has been! Lots of ups and a
few downs but overall a great week! To start off, our new investigator
from last week, H, dumped us over text message! 💔 she has
decided to join the seventh day Adventist church like her brother. We
were so sad! She had such an amazing first lesson, she could feel the
Spirit! But she's only 15, so at least she's seen a glimpse of the
truth and one day she will remember that!

Our other new investigators, M & S, are slipping away as
well. They rescheduled our lesson on Thursday to Saturday, and when we
showed up, they weren't home. We've tried calling them multiple times,
but we're not having any luck. Being a missionary is so tough
sometimes! Haha but I know there are people out there that are ready
to hear the gospel and to act on it! We're trying so hard to find
those people, and I know that the Lord will lead us to them. We just
have to be accepting of His timing.

I hit my 4 month mark this week! As soon as I realized that, it
occurred to me that I only have a year and two months left! 😳 that's
crazy! This has really shocked me! I've been looking back on my
experiences so far from my mission, and to be completely transparent,
I wasn't all that satisfied with what I've done so far. I was feeling
like I haven't accomplished much, and I haven't gotten the results
I've wanted. 🌩🌩🌩 well there's the problem! A successful mission is
not measured by baptisms, it's measured by the effort you have given
to the Lord. And although I haven't been able to give the physical
effort that I've desired to give (due to companion circumstances),
I've given everything that I have emotionally and spiritually! I know
that I've done all that I can, and that I may be a seed planter, but
that is just as important as sowing and reaping. It's tough because my
business mind and the achiever in me wants to see physical results,
but I wouldn't be learning nearly as much if it were just that easy.
No easy buttons out here! Haha so although it's not what I wanted,
it's exactly what I need and what the people of Lacombe need. It's
amazing how the Lord works! 😉

Wednesday was absolutely crazy, which was so good considering Dad was
an hour away! Haha there was a worldwide training for missionaries!
They haven't done this in over a decade! But it was incredible! You
could feel the power of having all missionaries around the world
joining together to become better. Something that was really
emphasized was that faith is a principle of action AND power! If we
act on our faith with determination to follow through, then the
literal powers of heaven will strengthen us in our efforts! How
incredible is that?! This applies to everyone! We can all call down
the powers of heaven to assist us in our righteous cause! The whole
training was amazing! Elder Andersen, Elder Bednar, Elder Oaks, and so
many others! I have so much I want to change in my missionary work!
Haha so I'm working towards becoming the missionary the apostles need
me to be!

After the training and our zone meeting, we had exchanges! So I stayed
in Red Deer with Sister V! Which means I got to see my
favorite British lady, L! Goodness I love that woman! We hadn't
originally planned to go see her, but the other appointment fell
through. Probably my fault because I r ally wanted to see Lynn! She
almost never stops talking, but she didn't stop long enough for us to
read the story of Abinadi with her which was amazing! She's a slow
slow investigator, but I have no doubt it will happen! This elderly
ladies are just so bad for me! I get so attached! Haha I mentioned to
L that I had a twin, and she just loved it! She saw the picture and
just went on and on about it! I also showed her a picture of me and my
siblings, she thought that Nathan and Brayden were just the most
handsome guys! 😂 She also thought MaRhea was beautiful and asked
about their families.  I assured her I had the cutest nieces and nephew on
the face of the earth!  She told me to tell all of you hello and that she

wants to meet all of you! So I guess now everyone has to come back to
Canada with me to meet Lynn! 🇬🇧👵🏻😂

So remember that guy that insulted me, my name, and my future children
last week?? Haha he wasn't that bad, but anyway, we were back in Clive
for some more service tracting and we decided to ask him for a
referral! Haha crazy I know! He turned out to be so kind! He took us
on a tour of his remodelled house with his wife, and we got a
referral! It's amazing how being Christ-like changes people! 😉

While we were in Clive, we went into this little embroidery shop to
ask to use the restroom. There was this German lady, Elkie, and she
was the owner! I started chatting with her about life and of course
religion came up! We were able to have an amazing conversation about
the last days, families, Jesus Christ, it was amazing! She wasn't
really interested in learning more about our church, but she did let
us leave a Book of Mormon with her and we said a prayer with her
before we left. That was one of those moments were I knew I would
probably never see her again, but I gave her the resources to find
truth, it felt so good! Sharing the gospel brings an indescribable joy
that just can't be replicated!

Here's my final story! Haha a few weeks ago,  the bishop informed us
of a guy that had called the church asking for a ride to come to
church! For 3 weeks, people have been stopping by trying to give him a
ride, but he never answers the door! So we had an appointment fall
through on Saturday so we decided to call him! His name is L! He
told us that he feels like he's hit rock bottom. This guy was a Golden
Glove boxing champ!! But now he has no family, no money, and he is
heavily addicted to smoking. He wants to change! So we ran right over
with a Book of Mormon and an Addiction Recovery manual! We set up a
ride for him to come to church on Sunday, but he was a no show again!
We tried to get ahold of him but got nothing. Finally at 10 last
night, he calls! So we answer and start talking! He found out that his
uncle had passed away, and he was devastated! It only took me about 15
seconds to realize that he had turned to the wrong source to numb the
pain. This guy was so drunk! But! Haha he did make the right decision
in calling us. We turned him to Alma 40, said a prayer with him, and
then sent him off to bed! Haha we're going to be teaching him tonight
or at least we hope so! We did set up the appointment while he was
intoxicated! Haha so we will see! This man needs the gospel so
terribly! He's at the point of desperation! So please keep him and us
in your prayers! We're hoping for a miracle with this guy!

Oh I've just learned so much this week! I love this work! I feel
incredibly blessed to be a full time servant of the Lord in His work.
Thank you for making it possible for me to be here! I love you! Have a
fantastic week!

A person may have chose to take a different path from yours, but that doesn’t mean that you need to end your friendship with them. Sometimes, it takes distance for us to grown and be more matured person. On there other hand, I feel the stress you had been on that week. It was a tough one, but you have survived it! At the end of the day, it’s the number one thing that matters because despite the heaviness of the load, you were aloe to overcome it!
