The city is absolutely beautiful! Leaves are falling everywhere, and it hasn't been too chilly. Life is so good! It was a great week! We didn't have a ton of big things happen, we've spent a lot of time talking to people on the bus and in the streets. But I will share some of the exciting things that happened.
Tuesday night we had a lesson with a less-active woman named W. She has chosen to go the more "spiritual" route meaning worshiping outside of a specific faith. She told us about the things she has learned about, and I did my best to relate to her. Sadly, she's gotten into some pretty strange things! Haha but we still had a great conversation, and at the end, we were both able to testify to her about the importance of seeking God's will for us. There are so many different philosophies and theories to explore, but what really matters is where God wants us to be. It always feels so good to testify to others about how much Heavenly Father loves them. Something I learned from Sister V is that you can never tell someone too many times that they are loved. It is always something we need to be reminded of.
Wednesday I got to go on my first Sister Training Leader exchange! I went to Sherwood Park with Sister A. She's from Riverton, UT, and I just adore her! We spent the majority of the day knocking on doors because her and her comp are new to the area, but it was a blast! She taught me so much about being bold and the importance of bearing testimony. We were able to meet one of the member families, and they have such a cool story! Their son suffered from a brain aneurysm two years ago, almost died, and he's had to learn how to do everything all over again. He can now speak, walk, and respond so well. He just radiates with the Spirit. I have no doubt that he has angels on his right and left helping him through this process. Meeting him really strengthened my testimony about learning to be happy IN our trials, not just after.
We've spent a ton of time this week handing out invites to the General Women's Meeting as well as General Conference. We were able to walk around the Legislature Building last night inviting people while waiting for our investigator, E. It was such a blast, and so many people sounded excited about it! We had a great lesson with E. If you don't remember, Sister H and I found him while we were on exchanges last month! So cool. Sadly, he is more than likely moving to China this week. Super random, I know! But he informed us that there is a chance he will stay here, so we're praying like crazy that it will! He has started reading the Book of Mormon, and he has expressed some interest in being baptized. He's an incredible man, and I am praying like crazy that we can keep him here! China is way too far!
Well friends, this is probably the shortest email I've ever written... haha I'm sorry! It's amazing how much can happen in a week, yet you don't remember what happened yesterday! But I will end with my testimony of General Conference. I have named this weekend the Spiritual Superbowl! So many answers are waiting for us through the messages of prophets and apostles. If we prepare with questions, I KNOW we will receive an answer. Every time I have asked a question, I've been blessed to receive an answer. I can't wait to see what messages touch your hearts!
Have a great week! I love you all!!
