Hello people!!
A lot of exciting things happened this week! To start off with.. I forgot to tell you about the amazing miracle that happened with E! He is our investigator that just moved to China. He moved
there on a Thursday, and that Saturday, Sister P texted and said that a missionary she knew from the Halifax mission had texted her. She said that E is working at the same place she is in China!!!! She said that she would continue to help him learn and that she put him in contact with people that would help him get to church. So Enrique moves to China and in the first 3 days, he is put in contact with people from the church!! He is so obviously being prepared. Miracles. Everyday. It just blows me away that although he is halfway across the world, he is still guided by the Spirit to find the gospel!
We finally got to go on our own exchanges! In the mission, there are 2 sisters that are not assigned an area, they just go on exchanges with all the sisters and find with you all day to help you add more people to your teaching pool. They came with us for the day on Friday. I went with Sister E and that girl is a machine!! She LITERALLY talks to every person she can! We were able to set a new record for traveling exchanges, we had 110 approaches!!! It was such a busy day, and she is so dedicated to the work. We have so many new potentials, and I'm praying they turn into investigators!!
We had quite the experience tracting Sunday night. We got yelled at. Hahaha surprise, surprise! Pretty fun, and only happens occasionally, but we have to see some opposition somewhere. We had tried by as many people as we possibly could and not a one answered so we decided we would tract for the last 30 minutes of the day. Well one man did not like our idea and told us we were being very selfish and only thinking of ourselves by trying to tell others about Jesus. That one confused me. I am pretty sure if I was thinking of myself, knocking on doors would be the last thing that I would be doing! Oh well. When I meet him one day in the spirit world, I will tell him that I have been planning his lesson for years if he is ready to hear it! ;)
Here's another funny story for you! Sunday, we had dinner at the O's! They are such a cute family. When we walked in their door, everything was all smoky. They had just been frying some Yorkshire pudding things, and the oil didn't like the heat very much. Well, my eyes have always struggled with smoke, and so I had to step out of the room occasionally for my eyes to breathe. Well, it came time to sit down for dinner. By this time, my eyes are completely red, and it looked like I had been crying for two hours! Their little girl was wearing swimming googles on her eyes! haha The parents felt so bad! Sister H and I were just laughing the whole time! My mascara was totally gone by the end of the meal, and we ended the evening by playing Beanboozled! It's like Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans from Harry Potter, but you have to spin the wheel to see which flavor you have to get. My personal favorite was trying for either a juicy pear or booger...... Boogers don't taste like the did when I was three.... It was a hilarious evening for sure!
Well everyone, that's all I've got for this week! Transfers are happening tomorrow, and sadly Sister H is leaving! We have had a blast together the last 6 weeks, and it will be so different without her! But we both have some exciting times ahead, and I can't wait to see what is in store!
I want to testify about the reality of Christ's Atonement. Something that I've realized this week is that I teach people about the Atonement every day, but I haven't been using it nearly as much as I should in my own life. Sometimes we get so caught up trying to help others draw closer to Christ that we forget that we need it too! I hope to utilize his Atonement every single day.
Have a great week everyone! I love you!!
